  • The 7 days of the week in French (les jours de la semaine)
  • The 12 months of the year in French (les mois de l’année)
  • How to pronounce each correctly
  • Tips to remember tricky ones like jeudi (Thursday), vendredi (Friday), avril (April)
  • And most importantly — how to write dates in French

📌 We also compared US vs EU date formats — this part is super important when filling out forms, writing letters, or even reading documents in French-speaking countries.

Let’s take a quick look:

📅 Days of the Week | हप्ताका दिन:

  • Monday – lundi (लुंदि)
  • Tuesday – mardi (माख्दि)
  • Wednesday – mercredi (मेर्क्रेडी)
  • Thursday – jeudi (जुडी/जुदि)
  • Friday – vendredi (भेन्ड्रेडी/भन्द्रदि)
  • Saturday – samedi (साम्डी/साम्दी)
  • Sunday – dimanche (डीमान्स/दिमान्स्)

👉 Remember: In French, days are not capitalized , unlike English.

🗓️ Months of the Year | महिनाहरू:

  • January – janvier (जान्भिए)
  • February – février (फेव्रिए)
  • March – mars (मार्स)
  • April – avril (आव्रिल)
  • May – mai (मे)
  • June – juin (ज्वाँ)
  • July – juillet (जुइए)
  • August – août (उत)
  • September – septembre (सेप्टेम्ब्र)
  • October – octobre (अक्टोब्र)
  • November – novembre (नोभेम्ब्र)
  • December – décembre (दिसेम्ब्र)

👉 Same as days, months are also not capitalized in French.

🇫🇷 Bonus Lesson: How to Write Dates in French | फ्रेंचमा मिति कसरी लेख्ने?

This was our special focus at the end of the video — and it’s one of those things that can really trip up learners.

In French , the standard way to write a date is:

le + [day] + [month] + [year]
Example: le 5 avril 2025

✅ Unlike the US format (Month/Day/Year), French uses the European format (DD/MM/YYYY) . So:

  • 05/04/2025 = 5 April 2025 (EU/French)
  • But in the US, that would be 4 May 2025!

🚨 This is very important to understand when traveling, applying for visas, or working with European documents.

That wraps up Day 3 of our French learning journey! By now, you should feel confident saying the days, months , and even writing dates in French. Keep practicing by reading signs, calendars, or even writing your own schedule in French!

Tomorrow , we’ll learn about family and relations in French — yes, I bet it that you will be surprised to see the difference from Nepali relation culture to French one ! Don’t miss it! 😊
भोलि हामी फ्रेंचमा परिवार र सम्बन्धका बारेमा सिक्नेछौ

✅ Daily Practice Tip:

Write today’s date in French every morning. For example:
Aujourd’hui, c’est le 5 avril 2025. Nous sommes vendredi.
(आज, ५ अप्रिल २०२5 हो। शुक्रबार छ।)
